Should we be afraid of quick beginnings and changes? Rather no than yes. After all, if you have an internal request for changes, then it is not without reason. In this article, we will talk about the power of quick beginnings.
The plot of every second modern and not so modern film, in which the central role is given to a "confused" hero looks like this: we see a person with a baggage of problems and permanent fatigue - he wants to break out of the vicious circle here and now, but does not know how (surely, this is familiar to you).
And at some point in the film, he meets another character, who gives him a motivational speech: "Everything is not so simple, but the world is open to new beginnings, and you, a guy, are what we need, you will succeed!"
The plot develops further, the confused social media marketing service hero turns on his understanding and, like fizzy drinks, he dissolves the idea of transformation in himself. The viewer watches how the thread of the narrative, the frames and music on the screen change, and along with them our hero. He found the light at the end of the tunnel, straightened his shoulders and is heading towards new beginnings.
The last frames before the credits, we see a successful person whose life is a success. Ah, in just 100 minutes of screen time we got to the happy ending. Of course, we want the same in our lives, so that at the snap of a finger all our changes happen in a movie-like manner.
A small spoiler: to change something in your life, you need a little more time. But already from this lyrical digression we can draw a conclusion (and it does not matter whether the fictional story is the basis of the film or a very real one): every story of changes begins with the fact that the hero begins to do something new.
So what is the power of quick beginnings, what is it in general and how not to be afraid to master new horizons for yourself. Let's consider the theory using programming as an example.
Step one. Questioning. Is it really worth changing and not resisting changes? A tricky question, because if you have a sense of your own happiness, then this article is not about you. If you are constantly looking for sources and reasons for change, then the main thing is to ask yourself a sincere question: "What do I want to change in myself?" Is it related to lifestyle, free time or even a change of profession? The subconscious is a subtle thing, and, as a rule, very quickly gives you an answer to the right question (the first thoughts that come to mind when the question is asked correctly, usually act as the vector in which you need to move).
Step two. Transformational.Any change is a transformation through a “sacrifice”. Yes, you will not be able to live and think the same way you did before after starting certain actions. Take a baby as an example: as soon as he learns to speak, the range of his possibilities becomes wider, he more clearly conveys his idea of what he wants. Therefore, you and I should think about what we “should stop doing” and what “we should start doing”. The same concept of actions is described in P. McCord’s book “The Strongest” (the history of Netflix). But the main thing in this “sacrifice” is the following: you do not become a victim, you sacrifice part of your previous lifestyle to your changes, for example, you will become less stuck on TV series.
Step three. Goal-setting. Roughly outline the result you want to get. If you go to an imaginary point without understanding what you want to get, everything, alas, will be in vain. Your motivation from the subconscious will not last long. You will look for Hogwarts on the map of England, but deep down you will know that it is not there. The main thing is to understand from the start why you are starting all this.
Step four. Practical. Here we come to quick beginnings. There is a simple rule: "to start doing something, you just need to start doing it." When the first three steps are completed, start building an action plan and implementing it. Minorly, 10-15 minutes a day. Achieve regularity. For example, systematically read more on the topic, systematically watch useful videos on development, systematically learn English. Here it is, the minimum program.
